Mr. Second Best

Huggie has been in love with his best friend, Jake´s wife for as long as he´s known her. Jake is in a accident and dies, leaving Mellie and their two kids. But Huggie steps up to the plate, when guilt and depression makes her unable to care for the kids. Him being there as a friend and nothing more. He just wants her happy.

You hear a slow story, how she tries to fight her way out of grief and guilt. And how he struggles every day not telling her, he loves her. Her two kids love Huggie and he loves them like his own, because they are HER kids.
All in all a sweet story. Little long for my taste but the HEA was worth the wait.
